About Us

Iulia CHIN LEE has been working in miniature since 1992. She uses  her skills in fine arts together with her knowlege of furniture as an  antique restorer to create 1/12 scale miniature pieces. Iulia has a  Bachelor's degree in Fine Art from The National Taiwan Normal  University. She accomplished her Master's degree in Fine Art at The State University of New York at New Paltz.

Iulia is a member of and an instructor at the International Guild of  Miniature Artisans. Her work has been featured in many national and  international magazines and her work is sought after by museums and  private collectors. 

Iulia is a recognized artisan not only for miniatures but also for  woodworking and furniture making. At Northeastern Woodworkers  Association Showcase 2010, Iulia won "Best of Show" among over 500  entries. The same year she was awarded one 1st place ribbon in 'Case  Furniture', one 1st place ribbon in 'Table and Bed', one 1st place  ribbon in 'Miniature' and one 2nd place ribbon in 'Spindle-Turning'. In  2011, Iulia's marquetry-panelled room box received 1st place in the  category of 'Marquetry'. 

In 2012, Iulia's miniature Dutch Kas was selected into a juried show hosted by Connecticut Historical Society. The exhibition is  entitled 'A Tradition of Craft' : Current work by members of Society of  American Period Furniture Makers (SAPFM). Only 34 pieces of furniture  were chosen. Iulia's miniature Dutch Kas is one of them. Iulia feels  specially honored since most of SAPFM members are well established  artisans. 

Iulia CHIN LEE is affiliated with International Guild of Miniature  Artisans, Society of American Period Furniture Makers, Northeastern  Woodworkers Association and American Assocition of Woodturners.
